Mike Child DMD MSD Specialist in Orthodontics has been providing expert dental and orthodontic care to his patients since opening his practice in 1991. A native of Lexington, KY, Dr. Child also attended the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry, and Indiana University School of Dentistry, while also serving his country as a member of the United States Army National Guard, retiring after 20 years of service.

Dr. Child lives in Lexington, KY where he grew up and attended Tates Creek High School 75, graduating after his junior year to attend the University of Kentucky, where he studied biology.
During this time he also studied at the Infantry Officers Candidate School at Kentucky Military Academy. Following graduation from the University of Kentucky, he went on to study at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.
After completing his dental studies at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, Dr. Child studied orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at the Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Serving Both His Patients and His Country
Dr. Child has combined service to his patients with service to his country as a member of the United States National Guard, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Dr. Child took part in a medical civil assistance program, New Horizon Guyana 1997, as a dentist with the United States Army National Guard in a joint-combined humanitarian exercise held with the Guyana Defense Force and local community leaders.
During the months of June and October 1997, these groups worked together to accomplish engineering construction and medical projects.
